LMS Email Best Practices

Why would I do a webinar with BlueSky? Because the LMS system and the education team are often times working in a silo, and not talking to the marketing team. During audits I ask “tell me more about your continued learning for members, how much are they getting emailed, can I see the data there too?”. Unfortunately the answer is almost always “all of that data lives in our LMS, we’re not sure how to get it out and we don’t know how many emails the education team are sending”.
When BlueSky, an excellent LMS system, asked me to speak on email best practices I said absolutely! To provide the best member experience, we need to be aware of all the emails members are receiving, that includes reminders about their educational journeys, and course promotions. This is achieved by having good email traffic control, or a place where we can see all emails going out and to who. Sometimes even just documenting that campaigns are regularly going out of the LMS to remind people of where they are in a course is important!
To all education & marketing teams, work together. Strive to document what’s happening in each other’s worlds and make sure email best practices are being applied so people love reading your emails no matter where they come from.
